Babydriver EP Release Show

November 1, 2011

xFlyer for 2011-11-03

Hey, guys. This is a cool thing. We’re playing the Babydriver Sad Soldier Red 12″ EP release party at T.T. The Bear’s Place, this Thursday. Also playing are Girlfriends and Spirit Kid. This is an ironclad lineup, so recognize. Get there early, be nice, bring money to buy a Babydriver record.

If you’re interested in seeing the 2011 version of The Bucks one last time, this is your opportunity. We’ve been focusing on covert ops lately. New songs. Demo, demo, demo, Demos. Gyros and beer. Flower pot power. We’re cooling it on the shows and focusing on the prize. This Babydriver release is an exception; it’s too rad not to miss and it’s a practice room reunion. Get ready for new songs and and new adventures in ’12.

By the way, we still have copies of Crucial Schmooze on LP and CD (pshhh, compact disc), as well as the Be a Baby 7″.

Endless Middlesex

July 8, 2011

We’ve got a release show for the Endless Bummer poster single coming up on July 24th. You come early, you drink, you get a poster (for free if you’re one of the first 25 people in the door), you have a blast, you go home, you eat a snack, you fall asleep watching cartoons at 3:30AM, you wake up, you download the Endless Bummer EP, you listen to “Kick Rocks”, then you hear us covering one of the most gloriously badass yet fun songs ever written. Or something to that effect.

Either way, come drink beers with us and buy things from the bands from Cleveland. And get a copy of the poster single for free! (because you were one of the first 25 people to show up, right?)

Here are the full show details:

Prisoners (Cleveland)
Hot Cha Cha (Cleveland also!)
DJ sets by Kate from Pilgrims of Sound
9:00PM, $5:00, 21+ (sorry kids)

Sick Rocks

June 22, 2011

Happy summer time, guys!

Impose magazine debuted a song of ours today. It’s called “Kick Rocks”, and will be the A-side of our new single, entitled Endless Bummer. You can get “Kick Rocks” for free from the Impose Magazine article, or you can visit our bandcamp site and snag it in your desired format (I’m a v0 guy, personally).

At the same recording session (at Chillhouse in Charlestown with Kurt Schneider and Will Holland) that produced “Kick Rocks”, we recorded 5 more songs that you’ll hear soon. They have a more “Bucksy” vibe to them, in that they are less polite and conscientious. If you’ve been going to our shows this year, you’ve heard them, and you already understand that they will eat from your fridge without asking and change the presets on your car radio. Those sons-of-bitches are the life of the party.

For those of you that haven’t been at our shows and heard the new songs – here’s an opportunity. We’ll be playing this coming Monday at O’Brien’s in Allston. This is the release show for the new Bozmo album, Hosanna In The Highest! Bozmo is the bomb, and The Clippers and The Bucks will be rounding out the party.

I’m digging those clippers. They remind me of The Band Apart. The Japanese rock band, not the metal band.

Did you get a Bozmo tape yet?!

Milky Way Show and New EP

May 13, 2011

The Legend of Goatman's Bridge cover

Hello friends. It’s been a while. We have some stuff happening.

Tonight there’s a boss show at the Milky Way in Jamaica Plain for the release of the new Beware The Dangers of a Ghost Scorpion! 7″ EP The Legend of Goatman’s Bridge. Come surf out with those guys plus us Girlfriends and Thick Shakes. Bring money too because the EP is boss. Thick Shakes also recently released a 7″ that’s definitely worth its meager price tag. Also you will probably want pizza (we are American after all). Get spooky and delicious!

Speaking of new EP’s our is on the way. The Orange Aura EP will be a 5-song fun fest. We’re finalizing the mastering at this point and will post more details as the weeks proceed into oblivian. I will say though that it’s gonna be a headbanger.

Flywheel Tomorrow

January 21, 2011

Flyer for the Flywheel show

Just a reminder that we’ll be in Western MA tomorrow at the Flywheel in Easthampton. And we’re bringing Luau and Beware the Dangers of a Ghost Scorpion with us (really to say they’re bringing us is closer to the truth though). There are two Wassachusetts bands: Mountain Interval and Bunny’s a Swine. I’m digging them.

If you live in the void west of Worcester then you should probably come to this. Also this show is brought to you by Expressway To Yr Skull Western MA’s favorite alternafun radio show Tuesdays 8-10PM on WMUA.

More on our upcoming release(s?) soon!

Super Karate Monkey Death Radio

Flyer for Dig Safe at the Rosebud

Anyone watching Conan? Yikes!

The Bucks will be playing a couple songs on WTBU this Friday. You can listen on the internet or even on the actual radio if you live around Boston. We’ll probably be bullying the jukebox a bit as well.

If you’re looking for something awesome to do while drinking off your radio hangover the following day you could go see my other band Dig Safe at the rosebud in Somerville. Sorry guys this was canceled due to a scheduling error with the venue.

Finally the Bucks are playing at Great Scott in Allston a week from today. Be there!
